Greater Anglia Extends Free Train Travel for People Fleeing Domestic Violence
Tuesday 22 December, 2020 Written by Hannah Brown - In Your AreaDOMESTIC ABUSE - Greater Anglia has announced it will be extending free train travel for survivors of domestic abuse until the end of March next year.
The company - which provides services in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, said the decision was made following figures that showed on average four survivors a day nationally, had been using the scheme.
Rail to Refuge is a joint initiative between rail companies and Women’s Aid in which train operators cover the cost of train tickets for women, men and children travelling to refuge accommodation.
