Frank Field MP Fights Back Against Critics

Labour veteran Frank Field — fresh from losing a confidence vote from local party members angry at his stance on Brexit — gives a reminder of what parliament would be missing without him, with a sharp critique of the government’s “non-response” to his work and pensions committee’s recommendations for helping the country’s millions of at-home carers stay in employment.

Field has taken the unusual step of asking Disabilities Minister Sarah Newton to “go away and try again” and issue another response to his committee’s report, which recommended a reform to the carers’ allowance.
