Dozens of Disabled People In Stoke-On-Trent Being 'Unfairly Denied Benefits'

An investigation is to be carried out into why people with cancer and other serious health problems are being unfairly denied disability benefits.

It follows concerns that increasing numbers of people in Stoke-on-Trent are having their applications for Personal Independence Payments (PIP) rejected. Both Potteries-based Disability Solutions and Unite Community claim they have 100 per cent records for overturning these decisions at tribunal – often many months after the original assessments.Campaigners say scores of people are being unfairly denied PIP.
