STUDENT ACTION - On October 14, students at the University of East Anglia (UEA), protested Chloe Smith, Norwich North MP, and the Minister in charge of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), being invited to give a guest lecture. They hung three of the ‘DWP Deaths Make Me Sick’ shrouds outside the lecture theatre as students and staff waited to be let in, and then inside the lecture theatre during the lecture.
At one point, two protesters even got on stage and started to hang the shrouds on the back wall. Unfortunately, security forces manhandled them and threw the shrouds aside, just as Chloe Smith casts aside the lives of disabled people.
The students also called attention to Chloe Smith’s 27 votes against climate action, and her vote for the Nationality and Borders Act, also known as the Anti Refugee.
